Marketing Manager
Reporting to: General Manager
Our client Nairobi’s premier boutique hotel Located in Westlands, with 40 suites, fine dining restaurants and a Spa is looking for a Hospitality Professional to join a winning team in the position of a marketing manager.
The Marketing Manager is in charge of the marketing operations in the hotel.
Duties and Responsibilities
He/she is the one responsible for planning sales strategy and implementing them to achieve organizations goals. The manager must ensure the share holders are informed of sales strategies being undertaken through regular and SMART reports.
Management – He/she is in charge of the management and overseeing the activities of the sales team while promoting all the facets of the Hotel including accommodation restaurant, Spa and Gym.
Profitability – He/she will ensure that all decisions are taken with final hotel profitability in mind. This touches on budgets, managing corporate and non corporate clients, solicit and close business as per the set parameters, monitor competition and communicate tactical strategies to management.
Guest experience – He/she will make decisions that ensure seamless guest experience from food & beverage, accommodation, housekeeping to staffing with a view to sustain sales and sustain further business.
Guest complaints – He/she will speak to guests about any issues that they may have and will be responsible for producing a resolution with the best outcome for both parties.
Streamline and develop systems necessary in improving service delivery to retained and potential clients through departmental, general and synergy meetings
At least 5 years working experience in a responsible role leading a hospitality establishment.
A degree in hospitality Management is preferable although diploma holders with good experience are also acceptable.
Any additional industry relevant training or experience will be helpful.
Any foreign languages spoken will be helpful.
Demeanor/ Attributes – Friendly, happy, neat, thorough, responsible, honest, trustworthy, punctual, detail oriented, clean, flexible, able to work long a & demanding schedule, able to lead a team, conflict resolution skills. Positive attitude to figures
Preferences: Preference would be for an individual with some international experience although we will NOT discriminate against an excellent candidate who doesn’t meet the above but has other strengths.
