The Aga Khan University Hospital, Nairobi, (AKUH,N) a premier
tertiary teaching hospital, is fast growing with a network of over 30
multi-site medical centers in East Africa and a state-of-the-art Heart and
Cancer Centre in Nairobi.
Director, Facilities Management
The Director, Facilities Management will be responsible for the
formulation of short and long term strategies for the Division.
Overseeing the Engineering, Biomedical, and Project Departments,
the incumbent will supervise all operations related to these departments
including environmental programmes and safety activities in compliance with all
legal requirements.
In addition, s/he will ensure an accessible and safe environment
for the patients, visitors, faculty and staff in the Aga Khan University,
Nairobi and serve as a technical resource to the Aga Khan Hospitals in East
Africa.
Applicants should have a Bachelor of Science Degree in
Engineering with a Masters’ in Business Administration as an added
advantage.
The successful candidate should be registered or eligible for
registration with the relevant Engineering Body and have at least 10 years’
experience in all Engineering areas including Electrical, Mechanical and
Chemical Engineering and experience in hospital / medical equipment.
Training and experience in Facility Management will be an added
advantage.
S/he must have excellent technical skills with proven ability to
manage a team of professionals.
Experience in a JCI accredited hospital is preferred.
Instructor/Registrar - (Accident & Emergency)
The Instructor will undertake clinical and educational functions
under the supervision of the Department.
In this role, the Instructor admits, consults and undertakes
diagnosis and treatment of patients admitted under University team or where
appropriate private admitting doctors.
The Applicants should have Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of
Surgery (M.B.Ch.B) or equivalent and be registered with the Kenya Medical
Practitioners and Dentist Board.
They should have completed formal Post-Graduate Medical
Education training from a recognized university in their discipline.
Nursing Education Services (NES) Coordinator
The NES Coordinator will be coordinate activities of the Nursing
Education Services (NES) portfolio.
/he will be responsible for identifying nursing training needs,
contribute to developing educational activities and evaluating the impact of
nursing education activities to build capacity.
Applicants should have a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from an
accredited School of Nursing.
S/he should have a minimum of five (5) years clinical nursing
experience.
S/he should have their current licensure with the Nursing
Council of Kenya.
Experience in management, nursing education, adult teaching and
learning, and quality assurance would be an asset.
Clinical Nurse – Critical Care
The Clinical Nurse is responsible to promote and maintain high
standards of professional nursing care to meet the needs of critically ill
patients and their families.
S/he will participate actively in decision making related to
patient care, and will ensure patients’ safety, dignity and respect are
maintained at all times.
Applicants should have a Diploma in Nursing (KRN / KRCHN) from
an accredited School of Nursing and training in Critical care or Emergency
Nursing.
S/he should have BLS / ACLS Certificate and a valid nursing
license.
Membership in NNAK and relevant chapter / association as well as
a Bachelor of Science in Nursing is an added advantage.
S/he should over 3 years’ experience of continuous clinical
experience in critical care or Emergency Unit.
Planning Coordinator
The Planning Coordinator will be responsible for the preparation
of budgets, monthly and quarterly financial statements alongside with
generation of variance explanations between actual and budget.
S/he will be prepare financial reports for Aga Khan University
Hospital and will be expected to work with the senior leadership on all key
financial issues.
Applicants should have a Bachelor of Commerce Degree and be a
CPA (K) with a minimum of six (6) years’ accounting experience, specialization
in management accounting and budgeting.
The ideal candidate should be computer literate and proficient
in Microsoft Excel and other accounting programmes.
S/he should have excellent analytical & interpersonal skills
and be able to work under pressure
Payroll Coordinator
The Payroll Coordinator will be responsible for processing of
the monthly payroll of Managers and oversee the main and locum payrolls.
S/he will process payments of compensation, fee for service, staff reimbursement, salary advances and adjustment as per set policies and procedures.
Applicants should have a Bachelor of Commerce and/or CPA (K) or
equivalent.
S/he should have a minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a
similar position with working knowledge of accounting standards and
procedures.
S/he should be conversant with Accounting and Payroll Systems
and proficient in MS Office.
The ideal candidate should be able to work independently and in
a team environment.
S/he should have good decision making skills, excellent
interpersonal, organizational and customer service skills
Team Leader -
Engineering Stores
The Team leader will supervise the purchase of required items
for the hospital (AKUH) use at the best price possible in order to maintain an
up to date and cost effective system of supply purchase.
Applicants should possess a Degree in Business Administration or
related field with at least 3 years’ experience in purchasing and/or a
warehouse function.
S/he should be registered or eligible for membership with the
Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supply (CIPS) or Chartered Institute of
Logistics and Transport (CILT) or Kenya Institute of Supplies Management
(KISM).
S/he should be computer literate and proficient in Microsoft
Office with excellent negotiation, organisational and communication skills.
