Mechanical Technician (Plant)

1 Position

Position scope

Reporting to the Plant Supervisor, the successful candidate will be responsible for the plant operations and maintenance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operating and maintaining the hydropower plant.
  • Participating in preventative corrective maintenance activities with reference to provided guidelines.
  • Operating and maintaining of the power supply to the factory.
  • Managing the Imenti Hydro generation and the diesel generation with respect to manpower, parts, records and all scheduled and unscheduled plant activities.
  • Supervising and Managing Mechanical/ Hydro Mechanical aspects of power plant including O& M.
  • Monitoring and progress tracking of electromechanical works /equipment and related hydro mechanical works done by others.
Qualifications/Skills/Experience
The ideal candidate must possess the following qualifications, experience and competencies: -
  • Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
  • C (Plain) O level (Minimum div 4)
  • 4 years experience in a similar environment
  • Read and interpret circuit diagrams.
  • Experience in electro mechanical/ hydro mechanical / mechanical engineering works preferably related to hydro power projects.

Hydropower Plant Operator

2 Positions
 
Position scope

Reporting to the Plant Supervisor, the successful candidate will be responsible for

Key Responsibilities
  • Operating the hydropower plant.
  • Participating in preventative corrective maintenance activities.
  • Maintaining a record of all daily operation activities and incidents at the plant.
Qualifications/Skills/Experience

The ideal candidate must possess the following qualifications, experience and competencies: -
  • Diploma in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering.
  • C– (Minus) O level (Minimum)
  • 3 years experience in a similar environment
  • Read and interpret circuit diagrams
  • Work under minimal supervision
  • Knowledge of transformer functions

Electrical Technician
1 Position

Position scope

Reporting to the Plant Supervisor, the successful candidate will be responsible for.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitoring of instrument readings as per established schedule.
  • Performing physical inspections and approved minor repairs.
  • Performing site tests for condition assessment when appropriate.
  • Scheduling preventive maintenance or life extension based condition assessment.
  • Operating and maintenance of the power supply to the factory.
  • Scheduling of Imenti Hydro generation and the Diesel generation in the factory in consultation with the factory electrician.
  • Responsible for all the export/ import of power to KPLC and filling of the returns through the FUM / Maintenance Manager.
  • Operating the plant with the Mechanical Technician on shift.
Qualifications/Skills/Experience

The ideal candidate must possess the following qualifications, experience and competencies: -
  • Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
  • C- (Minus) O level (Minimum div 4)
  • 4 years experience in a similar environment
  • Read and interpret circuit diagrams
  • Work under minimal supervision
  • Knowledge of transformer functions
