Sales and Marketing Manager– Ethiopia
The purpose of the job is to manage the sales demand of the business, through the application of the appropriate marketing mix, in order to ensure that there are always adequate levels of sales demand for the business in terms of volumes, the quality of the business type and the potential profitability of this.
The job entails the formulation and implementation of the sales and marketing
business plan. This includes defining market, competitor share, and competitor
advantages and weaknesses; forecasting projected business; researching,
identifying, and capitalising on market opportunities; developing sales and
pricing strategies, objectives, action plans, schedules, and assignments.
The position is part of the executive management team of the business and therefore participates in the day-to-day management of the company.

- Develops
and executes marketing plans and programs, both short and long range, to ensure
the profit growth and expansion of company products and/or services.
- Establishes
marketing goals to ensure share of market and profitability of products
and/or services.
- Researches,
analyzes, and monitors financial, technological, and demographic factors
so that market opportunities may be capitalized on and the effects of
competitive activity may be minimized.
- Ensures
effective control of marketing results and that corrective action takes
place to be certain that the achievement of marketing objectives are
within designated budgets.
- Prepares
marketing activity reports.
- Establish
the product portfolio of the company, including the types of products, the
specifications, and the markets these will serve. This includes
understanding market trends and customer needs, and understanding what
makes products or services sell.
- The
KPA includes the product research elements such as the development of new
products, new technologies, and new market applications.
- Conducts
marketing surveys on current and new product concepts
- Establish
the pricing strategy of the company in order to maximise sales demand
whilst simultaneously optimising profitability ratios.
- Develops
and recommends pricing strategy for the organization which will result in
the greatest share of the market over the long run.
- Establish
the packaging configuration for the products in order to protect the
product and present it in the best way.
- Evaluates
market reactions to advertising programs, merchandising policy, and
product packaging and formulation to ensure the timely adjustment of
marketing strategy and plans to meet changing market and competitive
conditions.
Educational Qualifications & Experience
- A
bachelor degree in B. Administration, B.Com or any other relevant
qualification.
- MBA
will be an added advantage
- At
least 6 years relevant experience in Manufacturing with three in a senior
management position.
- Proven
excellent performance.
- Good
in Sales planning, product development and positioning, People management
and territory management.
- Excellent
communication both written & oral.
