Job Summary
Youth Agenda is
looking for a Programme Assistant – who is expected to provide programmatic and
logistical support in the formulation, implementation and evaluation of YAA
programmes in a professional and effective manner
Under the overall supervision of the Programme Manager and working closely with the Programme Officer, the Programme Assistant will have the following main duties

- Assist
in planning, designing, implementing and monitoring programme
implementation;
- Ensure
internal flow of communication within the secretariat and the constituency
contact persons;
- Generate
activity reports and analyse data;
- Understand
and interpret the wider objectives, strategies and plans of the YAA and
initiate and communicate to the outside world;
- In
collaboration with the Communication and Programme Officer manage
internal and external communication through various media such as
newsletters, sms, online discussions, brochures, info packs,
banners, press releases and statements;
- Sharing
important news, events, announcements and other matters related to Youth
Agenda networks;
- In
consultation with the Programme Manager assist in collecting data and any
relevant information for the Programme Officer;
- Operationalise
a knowledge management system in liaison with the Programmes Management
- Perform
any other duties assigned from time to time by the Programme Manager
Personal Specification
- Candidates
must have in their possession a University degree in the any of the
following disciplines: Sociology, Community Development, Law, Sociology,
Political Science, Strategic Management or related field;
- Fluent
written and spoken English are required.
- Personal
initiative; ability to work both independently and in a team, with ability
to set priorities, and to work to tight deadlines;
- Commitment,
determination, reliability and a high degree of personal integrity
&discretion;
- Ability
to analyse and process information
- Research
and Communication skills
- Ability
to clearly and concisely convey information to others.
- A
minimum of 6 months experience working on governance and
development issues
- Candidates
must be below 35 years of age
