Previously known as Embu Agricultural Staff Training (EAST)
College, The Embu University College (EUC) was established as a Constituent
College of the University of Nairobi through Legal Notice No. 65 of 17 June,
2011.
The objective of the University College is to play a leading role in the
development and expansion of opportunities for higher education and research in
agriculture, agribusiness, forestry, water and land management, biological
& physical sciences.The College seeks to develop into a centre of excellence for learning and research in agriculture and farming systems within and outside Kenya.
The University College now wishes to fill the following positions with qualified and experienced staff ready to spearhead the new College towards the attainment of the above objectives.
Senior Assistant Accountant
Applicants must have a Bachelor degree in Accounting or Finance and must have attained CPA II or equivalent.
He/she must have served as an assistant accountant in an institution of higher learning, public or private sector for a minimum period of three (3) years with experience in budgetary preparation and control, and in handling student finance matters.
He/she must demonstrate professional competence and high integrity, leadership qualities and be a team player.
He/she must also have proficiency in accounting software.
Assistant Accountant
Applicants must have a Bachelor degree in Accounting or Finance and must have attained CPA II or equivalent.
They must have some experience in budgetary preparation and control, and in handling student finance matters.
The appropriate candidate must demonstrate professional competence, high integrity and must be a team player.
He/she must also have proficiency in accounting software.
Accounts Assistant
Applicant must posses a good KCSE/KCE/EACE certificate and must have completed CPA part 1, section 1 and 2.
He/she must have served as an accountant in an institution of higher learning, public or private sector for a minimum period of three (3) years He/she must have exposure to computerized financial systems.
Internal Auditor
Applicants should be holders of a bachelor’s degree in Accounting and must be CPA (K) or its equivalent and a member of the relevant professional body.
They must also possess relevant computer literacy skills in accounting and auditing and must have excellent analytical competence and interpersonal skills with good sense of judgment and initiative and must be persons of high integrity.
Must be able to handle confidential and sensitive information, have excellent analytical and report writing skills.
He/she must be highly motivated with proven ability to work with minimal or no supervision, and able to pay attention to detail and a team player.
Those with Masters Degree and/or CISA qualifications will have an added advantage.
Senior Assistant Internal Auditor
Applicants must be holders of a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce (Accounts Option), Finance or any other relevant field of study.
In addition, possession of CPA (K) or ACCA and a minimum of five years experience in Auditing of public institutions of University setting.
The ideal candidate must have excellent knowledge of the current auditing standards and practices and must be able to handle confidential and sensitive information, have excellent analytical and report writing skills and must be highly motivated with proven ability to work with minimal or no supervision, able to exercise sound judgment, pay attention to detail and be a team player.
Assistant Internal Auditor
Applicants must be holders of CPA part III or its equivalent and at least 3 years experience in a busy audit department like a university setting.
Must be computer literate with excellent analytical, interpersonal and report writing skills.
The ideal candidate must have excellent knowledge of the current auditing standards and practices.
