Northern Aid (NAID) is a Non-Governmental Organization dedicated
to articulating, protecting and promoting the course of minorities, the needy,
the disadvantaged communities and the elimination of all forms of
discrimination and abuses.
NAID engages its beneficiaries and partners on a rights-based
pro-poor approaches and strives to link relief efforts to long term development
plans.
Due to expansion of its programs the following vacancies have arisen:
Programme Officers - 3 Positions
(Livelihood, Governance and Wash Programmes)
Duties and Responsibilities
- Overall
responsibility for planning, coordination, execution, monitoring, control,
and evaluation (internal and external) of the respective programs
- Direct,
supervise and manage the programmes from beginning to end
- Facilite
program review meetings with partners, and Northern Aid as per plans
- Organize
program activities, workshops, meetings, stakeholders meetings,
beneficiaries’ trainings, etc
- Prepare
internal monthly, annual reports and other periodic reports
- Prepare
and submit donor progress reports in accordance with contracts
- Conceptualise,
design and develop proposals and negotiate with development partners
Qualifications and experience:
Candidates should have the following qualifications and experience:
- University
degree from a recognized institution or its equivalent in a discipline
that has relevance to: Community Development or Social Sciences. Masters
Degree will be an added advantage
- A
minimum of 4 years experience two (2) of which is in governance,
livelihood, and/or WASH programmes
- Ability
to work effectively without supervision, communicate clearly and be a team
player
- Good
knowledge of working with marginalised communities and proven experience
of in-depth analytical skills of community empowerment programs will be an
added advantage
- Demonstrable
experience in advocacy and campaigns on good governance
Resource Mobilizer
Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage
a partnership strategy that optimizes relationship with partners
- Responsible
for the submission of reports to partners in accordance to agreed terms
- Identify,
research, build and maintain satisfactory relationships with partners at
the national, regional and international levels
- Establish
and oversee a structure that monitors partnership relationships
- Develop
a fundraising and partnership plan and be responsible for the overall
implementations of this plan
- Develop
and maintain a donor data base
- Develop
and establish standards for proposal writing and concept notes
- Prepare
reports and analysis setting forth progress, trends and appropriate
recommendations to the management
Qualifications and experience:
Candidates should have the following qualifications and experience:
- A
bachelors degree in Commerce or Communication with specialization in
markerting and/or fundraising from a recognized university
- A
masters degree and post graduate qualification in
commerce/communication/marketing or any other equivalent and relevant
qualification from recognized institution will be an added advantage
- A
minimum of 4 years experience with a reputable organisation in fundraising
will be essential
- A
proven productive experience in fundraising with non-governmental
organizations with international exposure and good portfolio of local and
international fundraising contacts or associates will be a definate
advantage
- Strong
leadership and management skill needed
