FIRM, a USAID/Kenya financial services program, implemented by DAI (Development Alternatives, Inc.), has vacancies for full-time professional employment in the each of the four positions outlined below.

1. The Partnership Specialist (SACCO emphasis) will generate and manage FIRM’s relationships with SACCOs – technical assistance and financial linkages.


Desired Qualifications:
  • A master’s degree in business, finance or economics.
  • 10 years of work experience in Kenya financial sector.
  • Demonstrated experience working with SACCOs as an employee or consultant.
  • Proficiency building and managing professional, institutional relationships.
  • Ability to work independently in a structured team environment.
  • Goal focused and output driven.
2. The Partnership Specialist will generate and manage FIRM’s relationships with financial sector institutions and others involved in agriculture, small-scale clean/renewable energy and water.

Desired Qualifications:
  • A master’s degree in any discipline.
  • 10 years of work experience in any field/discipline that involves relationship management.
  • Proficiency building and managing professional relationships with individuals and institutions.
  • Ability to work independently in a structured team environment.
  • Goal focused and output driven.
3. The Monitoring and Evaluation Coordinator will collect data, analyze information and prepare reports for the project to guide implementation and for submission to USAID on performance.

Desired Qualifications:
  • A master’s degree required, preferably in applied research, econometrics or related discipline.
  • 10 years of work experience in a related field.
  • Excellent analysis and writing skills.
  • Advanced user-knowledge in computer aided management applications and tools, including database customization development and administration.
  • Ability to work independently in a structured team environment.
  • Ability to self-manage and meet deadlines.
4. The Communication Specialist will serve as FIRM’s lead writer and she will prepare various forms of written communication for submission to USAID and for external distribution to the public.

Desired Qualifications:
  • A master’s degree in English, communications, journalism, education, marketing or related discipline.
  • 10 years of work experience and direct employment in communications or marketing at the corporate or company level.
  • Demonstrated writing and communications skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a structured team environment.
  • Ability to self-manage and meet deadlines.
