Alliance for A Green
Revolution (AGRA) in partnership with the Government of the Republic of Kenya,
the International Fund for Agricultural Development
(IFAD), Value Chain
Finance Center (VCFC) of Financial Sector Deepening (FSD) and USAID’s Financial Inclusion
for Rural Microenterprises (FIRM) and other Partners is implementing a six year
Programme for Rural Outreach of Financial Innovations and Technologies
(PROFIT) with the development objective of enhancing access of rural households
to a broad range of financial services.
The
Programme has three components:
i) Rural Financial Outreach
and Innovation;
ii) Technical Support
Services and
iii) Project Management.
The Business Support Services
(BSS) to be managed by AGRA is a sub component of the Technical Support
Services intended to provide technical assistance to participating Banks,
Micro Finance Institutions and other actors along the agricultural value
chains, ranging from producer groups to market intermediaries.
It is envisaged that Business
Support Services will be classified under the following three main categories:
A. Banks, MFIs and Savings
and Credit Cooperative Organisations (SACCOs) (financial institutions).
B. Small and medium
enterprises (SMEs) drawn from the crop, livestock, dairy, fruits and fisheries
sub-sector value chains, agro-dealers, off-takers, agro-processors and
other larger farmers
C.
Smallholder farmers and farmer groups.
As part of the implementation
of the Business Support sub-component, AGRA would wish to invite eligible
Technical Service Providers (TSPs) to express their interest to
participate in the PROFIT initiative under any of the above categories.
Prospective
TSPs can download complete sets of EOI documents and background
information on PROFIT at www.agra.org/tspselection.
Qualifying TSPs will be
selected and requested to submit proposals in accordance with the procedures
set out under the Business Support Services (BSS).
Interested TSPs may obtain
further information at the address below during office hours from 9:00 AM to
5:00 PM

Expressions of Interest
documents will be opened immediately thereafter in the presence of TSPs’
representatives who may choose to attend at the AGRA Main Conference Room
on the 5th Floor, Eden Square, Greenway Lane, Westlands.
