Primary Purpose
The East Africa Dairy Development (EADD) program aims to move smallholder women and men farmers out of poverty by improving their profit participation in the dairy value chain.
Working closely with
the TechnoServe Regional Program Manager, the Regional Business Analyst will be
responsible for research and analysis of the East Africa dairy market/industry,
Monitoring and Evaluation of Dairy Farmer Business Association (DFBA)
performance and information sharing within the project and relevant
stakeholders.
Duties and Responsibilities
Data collection, analysis and reporting
- Lead
research, preparation and communication of regular reports on the state,
trends, and implications of the East Africa dairy market.
- Maintain
and update templates, regional databases, systems and processes for all
data collection relating to DFBAs.
- Lead
data collection, information management and sharing of market data for
DFBAs as well as at a macro level.
Dynamic systems model of dairy sector
- Use the
already developed systems model to inform new project design.
Monitoring and evaluation
- Aggregate
and analyze project data participating farmers and farmer business groups.
- Lead
development of DFBA business reports .
- Support
development of case studies by using findings from collected data to
identify relevant themes in collaboration with the Regional Program
Assistant.
- Spearhead
improvements to Farmer Productivity Efficiency Tool.
Re-package current farmer production efficiency report and pilot
the productivity efficiency tool to selected sites in Kenya, Uganda and Rwanda.
Requirements
- Degree
in business related studies, economics and proven skills in market
analytics;
- Strong
financial analysis and management skills; those with advanced accounting
qualifications have an added advantage.
- Strong
dairy expertise, especially in regard to the development of dairy
production, value chains and markets;
- A
minimum of two years experience as a quantitative-oriented analyst,
preferably with experience in and/or exposure to the dairy sector in East
Africa;
- Excellent
oral and written communication skills a must;
- Ability
to develop well written, cohesive analyses and reports;
- Willingness
to travel domestically and internationally when necessary;
