Save the Children
provides support to children in Kenya through developmental and humanitarian
relief programmes delivered both directly and through local partners.
Save the Children has
an operational presence in Dadaab Refugee Camp, Eldoret, Habaswein, Mandera,
Meru and Wajir and has a logistics hub in Garissa.
Currently, we have a
staff complement of approximately 370 staff and expenditure of approximately
US$30 million this year.
We are seeking qualified candidates to fill the following positions to be based in our Nairobi office:-
Deputy Director of Programme Development & Quality
- S/He
will ensure effective systems are in place to monitor the quality and
impact of all Save the Children
- programmes
while being responsible for overall implementation of SCI’s Quality
Framework for planning, proposals and advocacy, as well as programme
quality assurance.
- S/He
will manage and support Thematic Advisors and Managers who ensure that
field teams are appropriately supported to grow the portfolio, ensure
programme quality, foster effective partnerships and advocate for
children.
Child Protection Advisor
- S/He
will ensure all child protection programming is of excellent technical
quality, attracts significant donor funding and contributes to Save the
Children’s strategic objectives, national/global learning and advocacy.
- S/He
will be expected to provide technical advice and support to project staff
to ensure programming
- objectives
are successfully achieved, with frequent visits to the field to support
high quality programme implementation.
- S/He
will also develop the Kenya country office Children Protection strategy
and monitor its effective roll-out.
Food Security & Livelihoods Advisor
- S/He
will ensure all food security and livelihoods (FSL) programming is of
excellent technical quality, attracts significant donor funding and
contributes to Save the Children’s strategic objectives, national/global
learning and advocacy.
- S/He
will be expected to provide technical advice and support to project staff
to ensure programming objectives are successfully achieved, with frequent
visits to the field to support high quality programme
implementation.
- He/she
will guide the development and effective implementation of a Hunger
Signature Programme in Kenya.
YouthSave Programme Officer
- S/He
will be responsible for supporting the planning, implementation,
monitoring and reporting of the
- YouthSave
Project which is a multi-year project whose intent is to develop and test
the development and
- commercial
impacts of youth savings accounts (YSAs) in 4 countries. S/He will be
required to build partner capacity for the effective implementation of
projects, in accordance with a rights based approach.
