PeaceNet Kenya, a network of peace builders in Kenya with strong
regional and international linkages is seeking to recruit aKnowledge
Management Officer to be stationed at the National Office / Secretariat in
Nairobi.
Overall Job Function
Description of main duties:
- Collecting,
collating and analyzing data useful in documenting learning experiences
from PeaceNet Programs, projects and activities to be used for the
organization’s information materials/publications.
- Coordinating
editing and production of various documents from workshops, seminars,
writeshops, and conferences organized by PeaceNet and partners
- Playing
a lead role in preparing and disseminating a range of public information
materials including newsletters, annual reports, brochures, flyers, policy
briefs, documentaries and website content
- Maintaining
high quality editing and production of all external and internal documents
- Providing
appropriate guidance/support to consultants and staff in designing and
production of PeaceNet training and communication materials.
- Ensuring
appropriate storage of knowledge generated and information material in
various forms for future use
- Developing
and managing mechanisms for dissemination and sharing of knowledge and
information
- Managing
the organization’s website information and supervise the publications
process.
- Providing
technical support to programmes implementation
- Promoting
the organization’s visibility, image and presence within the network and
among partners nationally and internationally
- Contributing
towards fundraising for the organization’s programme activities and
overall sustainability
Person specifications
- A
minimum of Bachelors degree in social sciences, development studies, media
and journalism or any other related field
- At
least 3 years work experience in writing, editing and documentation in a
reputable organization.
- Experience
in a peacebuilding organization will be an added advantage
- Excellent
communication skills both oral and written
- Good
computer skills especially in website management, and desktop publishing.
- Originality,
innovation and creativity in design and packaging of information for
communication
- Ability
to work calmly under pressure and to beat deadlines.
- Facilitation/training
skills.
