Promoter Monitoring and Incentives II (PMI-2)Project
Position: Field Assistant

Location: Ugunja
Building on earlier work conducted in Bungoma, PMI-2 will
collaborate with an implementing organization, Dispensers for Safe Water (DSW),
to investigate the impact of varying selection mechanisms and incentive schemes
on chlorine adoption rates.
The program will also explore the effect of involving community
leaders in local community projects. PMI-2 will be working at approximately 300
to 400 rural water sources at DSW’s Ugunja and Ugenya field sites.
We are currently seeking Field Assistants(FA)for organizing and
collecting data in these districts.
Theposition will be based in Ugunja and will require travelling
within these districts.
The Field Assistant will work closely with fellow field officers
and with PMI management team (Team leader, Project Associate).
The FO will spend 75% of his/her time in the field and 25% of
his/her time in the office.
Tasks, Duties, And Responsibilities:
General
- Prompt
arrival to work.
- Completion
of scheduled activities each day in a timely manner.
- Organizing
data collected from the field.
- Successfully
working in a team.
- Interact
with community members with the highest level of respect and understanding
- On
non-field days, conscientious performance of office work.
- Maintaining
high standard of professional integrity in all activities.
- Successfully
complete all tasks assigned by the PMI management team.
Data Collection
- Compile
water source user lists.
- Administer
questionnaires and surveys.
- Organize
data collected from the field.
- Ensure
data integrity is maintained at all times and minimize errors in data
collection and transport.
Qualifications: Required
- Excellent
oral and written communication skills in both English and Kiswahili
- Able
to relocate to Ugunja and comfortable travelling for extended periods of
time and in rural settings
- Ability
to work independentlyand as part of a team
- Well
organized, detail-oriented, able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
simultaneously with minimal supervision
- Experience
with position responsibilities listed above
Desired
- Bachelors
degree or college diploma/certificate
- Fluent
in Luo
- Skills
in data collection and survey administration
- Ability
to work with local administrators
