Senior Partner & SLA Officer
Ref: TECHNOLOGY_SPSLAO__SEP _2012
Reporting to the Senior Manager-Network Operations and Support, the position holder will be responsible for Partner management; Contract Performance Evaluation; NOPEX Reporting and Proactive engagement with third parties
The job holder’s key responsibilities will be to:
Partner management
- Set
up of new contracts relevant to Technology Division.
- Formulate
deliverables to be measured and penalty situations for non-adherence;
- Renew
contracts seamlessly;
- Provide
budget figures for contracts under your jurisdiction.
Contract Performance Evaluation
- Continuously
formulate and agree with service provider ways of improving performance;
- Evaluate
performance of each contract on a quarterly basis.
NOPEX Reporting
- Keep
an updated list of contracts with validity and payment status;
- Submit
monthly figures to section Manager and discuss and agree for posting in
financial books;
- Prepare
yearly forecast figures as may be required;
- Coordinate
CAPEX utilization to reduce NOPEX.
Proactive engagement with third parties
- Liaising
with external partners on potential risks to the network and sharing the
information;
- Mitigation
of potential risks to the network.
The ideal candidate should possess the following skills &
competencies:
- Bachelor
Degree in Business Administration or a related field;
- 4
years’ experience within a Technology Based company preferably within
Operations & support functions with a track record having engaged
vendors/contractors/3rd Party Service Providers in (amongst others);
- Experience
Pricing negotiations;
- Experience
in Assessing/Evaluating current application functionalities/performance
against set SLA;
- Experience
in Service Evaluations;
- Experience
in Contract Drafting & Reviewing;
- Exceptional
analytical ,presentation and documentation skills;
- Computer
proficiency;
- Good
communication & interpersonal skills.
Senior Wimax Planning Engineer
Ref: TECHNOLOGY_SWPE__SEP _2012
Reporting to the Senior Manager-RAN Optimization, the position holder will assist in the analysis and design of WiMAX systems in 3.5/3.3/2.6/2.5 GHz using specific Atoll RF planning tools including capacity and frequency planning and proposes optimization techniques through field work.
Reporting to the Senior Manager-RAN Optimization, the position holder will assist in the analysis and design of WiMAX systems in 3.5/3.3/2.6/2.5 GHz using specific Atoll RF planning tools including capacity and frequency planning and proposes optimization techniques through field work.
All these include but not limited to: Interference analysis,
Coverage mapping, Link Budget calculations, Profiles Calculation for LOS,
Selection of Best sites through analysis of topographical maps; and preparation
of BOQ rd.

experience in using commercial RF network planning tools for Wireless
Broadband
- Working
knowledge of IEEE 802.16 standards;
- WiMAX
Forum Certification is a plus;
- Basic
understanding of RF propagation models and their application for Wireless
Broadband;
- Knowledge
with RF measurement equipment (spectrum analyzer, power meter, etc.);
- Prior
RF/microwave experience with a wireless service provider;
- Basic
understanding and hands-on experience with RF instrumentation and lab
tools;

Senior 3G Radio Planning Engineer
Senior 3G Radio Planning Engineer
Ref: TECHNOLOGY_S3GRPE_SEP_2012
Reporting to the Senior manager, RAN Optimization, the holder of the position will manage and coordinate 3G network projects; 3G Network Capacity Provision, Nominal Cell Planning and documentation and Monitor 3G KPI’s /3G Radio network optimisation.
Key Responsibilities:
- 3G
project Management and coordination;
- 3G
Radio Network Capacity Planning;
- New
3G sites planning, surveys, parameters design and release of accurate
nominal plans, redesigns and integration parameters;
- 3G
Network Optimization;
- 3G
Site database update and parameter standardization;
- Prioritize
customer complains and provide a solution/ recommendation within the
agreed time frame;
- Identification
of Potential bottlenecks in the 3G end to end network and escalate to Core
PS related concerns.
Minimum requirements:
- Degree
in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Science, with an emphasis in Radio
communications;
- 3
years experience in telecommunication with 1 years minimum in UMTS
hands–on experience in Radio Network planning;
- Practical
knowledge on use of radio planning tool and nominal cell planning;
- Candidates
with experience in Siemens or Huawei 3G equipment will have an added
advantage;
- Practical
knowledge of 2G, 2.5G network a must;
- Knowledge
in tele-traffic Engineering will be an added advantage.
