Profile Introduction
 
Our Client, a leading Insurance company in the region, seeks to recruit a National Sales Manager to:
  • Implement agreed sales strategy so as to meet corporate objectives.
  • Drive sales force productivity and profitability.
  • Set minimum standards of recruitment, training, activity, productivity and compensation for the entire Field Force.
  • Set standards, and define career paths and requirements for the Field Force.
  • Ensure minimum standards of behaviour, activity and performance are adhered to throughout the Field Force.
The individual will be reporting to the Managing Director.

Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a sales environment, in a dynamic organization at different functional levels, 2 years of which must have been at management level.
  • Sales experience in a commercial setting, experience in financial services sector will have an added advantage.
  • Advanced Level Competence in Microsoft Office tools, i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
Job Specification - National Sales Manager
  • Stabilize the Field Force morale and gain commitment from them to a new and more professional sales culture within the Company.
  • Ensure that business growth is in line with and contributes to the agreed Strategic Plan for the business.
  • Develop the direct sales force’s office network, Sales Manager strength and Agent manpower in line with the strategic and profitability objectives.
  • Recruit, monitor and develop Sales Managers and or Unit Managers.
  • Set activity, productivity and quality (business retention, average premiums) standards and ensure that these are met throughout the direct sales force.
  • Specifically monitor and observe the actual behaviour of Unit Managers, assess their performance against key role competencies and to improve their effectiveness through coaching and good example.
  • Define training needs for all levels of the Field Force.
  • Ensure that sales and sales management processes are properly defined and documented, effectively supported with appropriate tools, and strictly adhered to.
  • Develop and maintain good quality sales management information systems so as to provide timely and effective insight into performance of Managers and Agents alike. 
  • Develop and maintain effective two way communication between Head Office and the direct sales force so as to improve mutual trust and co-operation.
