Responsibilities
Reporting to the Regional Librarian, the job holder will be responsible for the acquisition, organization, dissemination and exploitation of information resources and to effectively support the teaching, learning and research objectives of the university.

Other duties and responsibilities will include:
- Participating
in the collection, development and management; including managing the
acquisition of library materials to support teaching, learning and
research activities of the University
- Cataloguing
and classifying information resources in the library as well as
preservation of library & information resources
- Delivering
Information Literacy programmes
- Promoting
and marketing library and information services
- Participating
in the budgeting process for the Library
- Participating
in the library automation process and the development and management of
e-resources
- Participating
in the management of the library’s online integrated library management
system
Requirements
- A
Bachelors’ Degree in Library and Information Sciences or the equivalent
- Minimum
5 years experience as a Librarian
- Excellent
interpersonal and communication skills
- Excellent
computer skills
- Knowledge
of international bibliographic standards (MARC, Metadata formats etc.) and
Library automation systems will be an added advantage
