Accountant Career in Kenya


Position: Accountant

To prepare and avail accurate financial reports.

To timely and accurately prepare annual financial accounts for statutory audit.

Key Responsibilities
  • To prepare and avail accurate financial reports: monthly profit and loss accounts and the balance sheet
  • To open and maintain a fixed assets register showing
  • Correct locations and valuation of the items
  • Increase all added items (debit) ensuring that only those of capital nature are capitalized in consultation with the Finance & Administration Manager.
  • To timely and accurately prepare annual financial accounts for statutory audit.
  • To ensure accurate and timely annual returns
  • To provide desired professional advice to the Management.
  • Maintaining books of accounts- posting to the system to ensure correct position of the books.
  • Preparation and presentation of monthly ,half year and annual financial report any other report regarding performance as required by the management from time to time
  • Receiving and receipting of client monies.
  • Banking and bank reconciliations of all bank accounts
  • Sourcing for office supplies in consultation with management
  • Any other duty that may be assigned from time to time
Academic & Professional Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Commerce Accounting Option or any other Business related degree.
  • CPA part II or equivalent
  • Quick books
  • The person should have 3 years post qualification experience
Personal Profile
  • High level of integrity especially in regards to confidentiality.
  • Strong foundation of finance, statistics and economics
  • Expertise in interpreting accounting information.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Good analytical and quantitative skills.
  • Good computer knowledge especially using excel
  • Good decision-making ability.
  • Ability to work under deadline pressures, willing to work long hours.
  • Time management skills
