Regional People and Culture (HR) Specialist Job in Kenya


RESA 008/2012 –Regional People and Culture (HR) Specialist
 
Reporting to the Regional People and Culture Partner (RPCP), this role shall support the RPCP’s over arching goal of extending the reach of the Regional People and Culture team of supporting field based management teams in the delivery of programs.
 
Specifically this role shall be a busy post requiring lots of energy, creativity and influence, suited to a skilled and experienced hands-on individual with experience of human resource management in a high pressure environment.
 

The incumbent shall play a dual role of:-
 
Monitoring and implementation of Joint Regional HR work plan
 
Managing day to day HR operations at the regional office in Nairobi.
 
This will be an open ended contract, Grade E
 
Dimensions of Role:
  • Monitors the Regional Office Human Resources budget
  • Monitors regional HR network joint work plan (Supporting 12 countries and 12 HR managers)
  • Manages the Regional office HR operations portfolio (a staff compliment of 40 both local and international)
  • Facilitates staff meetings and conferences
  • Provides information and Resources to 11 line managers at the regional office as needed to support day to day management.
Key End Results and Typical Responsibilities:
 
Reporting to the Regional People and Culture Partner, the incumbent will:-
  • Ensure that recruitment is well planned, transparent and fair giving equal opportunity for the best person to succeed.
  • Ensure that employment information is readily and sufficiently available for all staff (both new and continuing)
  • Ensure that employment practice complies with Plan’s global Human Resources policy and Strategy as well as local employment law.
  • Ensure that the workforce is facilitated to be productive in line with Plan’s global framework for managing performance.
  • Maintain and implement a pay and reward system that is systematic, fair, competitive but cost effective and in line with Plan’s global pay policy.
  • Ensure that staff development programs/initiatives are effectively coordinated and implemented as per approved policy, plan and budget.
  • Support the Regional people and Culture Partner in monitoring the implementation of the Regional People and Culture network joint work plan and strategy.
Qualifications: Graduate with HR professional qualifications and experience in HR management
