Deputy Principal
BUC/1/2012: (Research, Innovation and Outreach)
Duties and responsibilities:
The Deputy Principal, Research, Innovation and Outreach will be the principal assistant to the University College Principal and will be in charge of Research, Innovation and Outreach (RIO) Division.
The Deputy Principal
(RIO) shall be the head of Research, Innovation and Outreach Planning, whose
primary functions include: co-ordination of university wide research and
consultancies; co-ordination of innovation and outreach activities;
development and implementation of intellectual property rights as well as overseeing linkages and partnerships with other institutions with the University College.
The successful
candidate shall be responsible for ensuring that the research, innovation and
outreach departments operate effectively and efficiently in line with Vision
and Mission of the University College.
Under the direction of
the Principal, the Deputy Principal (RIO) will ensure that the research,
innovation and outreach functions evolve into pillars of excellence within the
University College
.

Deputy Principal
BUC/2/2012: (Academic Affairs)
Duties and responsibilities:
The Deputy Principal Academic Affairs will be the principal assistant to the University College Principal and will take charge of Academic Affairs Division.
The Deputy Principal
(Academic Affairs) shall be the head of Academic Affairs Division, whose
primary functions include: development and preparation of academic programmes,
courses, syllabi and regulations; co-ordination of examinations, admissions and
registration of students, and postgraduate studies.
The successful
candidate shall be responsible for ensuring that the academic departments
operate effectively and efficiently in line with the Vision and the Mission of
the University College.
Under the direction of
the Principal, the Deputy Principal will ensure that the academic programmes
evolve into pillars of excellence.
Qualifications and experience for the Deputy Principals:
Applicants should:
- Be
Professors or Associate Professors who have at least 7 years experience in
senior management positions with outstanding and internationally
recognized scholarship record as evidenced by project grants and awards
that have been attracted to date.
- Demonstrate
competence in administrative and academic leadership in academic/research
environment.
- Have a
track record of success and performance characterized by visionary and
strategic thought, rapid growth and service delivery as well as
translation of ideas into value outputs.
- Have
the capacity to motivate and influence staff, students and other
stakeholders.
- emonstrate
evidence of outstanding ability to communicate effectively and good
interpersonal skills.
- Show
good understanding and commitment to the University coupled with a passion
for the promotion of learning, excellence in teaching, research and
innovation with the highest ethical standards, integrity and
professionalism.
- Have
skills, capacity and determination to initiate and facilitate the
development of relevant and quality society driven academic programmes.
- Have
skills, capacity and determination to initiate and sustain linkages and
networks for the promotion of scholarship.
- Have
proven capacity to promote learning, teaching, research and development in
a university setting.
- Have a
good understanding of the national policies and strategies governing
university education and training in Kenya.
- Have a
broad awareness of the factors and conditions shaping the development of
higher education in the country.
Terms and conditions of service:
The successful candidate will be offered a competitive remuneration package in accordance with the existing terms and conditions of service of Bondo University College.
