Industrial Relations Coordination Consultant Job Vacancy in Kenya


The Energy sector is seeking to recruit a performance drivenIndustrial Relations Coordinator on a Consultancy basis.
 
Key Role:
 
To ensure that the sector’s interests are catered for through effective representation of members in Collective Bargaining Agreement negotiations and individual disputes between employers and employees at all levels
 

Reporting to the various stakeholders within the sector, the successful candidate’s principal accountabilities will include:
  • Collect, circulate and advice members on any legal provisions that affect employment of labour
  • Advice members on the interpretation and application of various labour legislations
  • Represent members in:
(i) Trade Union disputes at informal and formal levels and prepare memorandums for such disputes,
 
(ii) Individual disputes between employers and employees at the Ministry of Labour or Industrial Court
  • Carry out market surveys of the CBA awards of peer Companies and Comparators and present a paper to Member Companies. This is to ensure market competitiveness and equity in the CBA negotiations and awards
  • Preparation of proposals for CBA negotiations based on market surveys done and also represent and advice members during CBA negotiations;
  • Organize members consultative meetings and prepare Minutes;
  • Liaise with other kindred organizations and consult on issues affecting the Union Employers;
  • Liaise with FKE on any matter concerning individual members or collectively;
  • Interact and consult with the Trade Unions on issues of common interest affecting employers and employees.
  • Recruit new members into the Council, follow up on members payments, organize periodical meetings on a need basis
Educational Qualifications & Experience
  • University Degree
  • Diploma or Post Graduate Qualification in HR Management with a bias in Industrial Relations
  • 10 years working experience with at least 5 years experience actively handling Industrial Relations Matters and CBA Negotiations.
