Climate Pal, a leading company in Climate Change in Africa, specializes in designing, developing and implementing projects which fight climate change and that have strong social and environmental impact in Africa.
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer and as a member of the Senior Management Team, the Sales Manager will be based in Nairobi, Kenya, with frequent visits to Embu County.
Sales Manager will be responsible and accountable for developing and implementing a strategic and tactical plan to grow the project in Kenya.
Coordinating
teams consisting of District Coordinators and Field Officers, the focus of this
position is on distribution, maintenance, equipment and supplies management,
while helping to grow the market for fuel-efficient improved woodstoves trough
distribution network development
Key areas of activity:
- Development
of project uptake strategies, deploying the cookstoves throughout
designated project areas;
- Develop
a highly effective distribution network;
- HR
Function: recruiting, designating locations, and training members of his
or her team;
- Implement
a strategic plan to deliver results aligned with Company and Division
objectives
Responsibilities include:
- Develop
and execute an optimal distribution strategy to meet household
expectations in respect of support, facility location and product/stove
offerings
- Deploy
a monitoring strategy for effective usage of the cookstove and to account
for emissions reduction
- Develop
a reporting strategy to ensure all produced stoves are sold and used
- Train
and coach the team and foster a strong team working environment
- Client
relationship building and maintenance
- Managing
communication and effective business dealings with distributors,
stakeholders, and colleagues
Key Attributes Required:
- Graduate
(Marketing / Business Management / Engineering)
- Managing
skills, training and recruitment abilities
- Sales
experience (5-10 years) - experience in managing market penetration in
rural areas for different products (mobile phones, lamps, food, cookstove,
water filters, food etc) would be a plus
- Ability
to develop a working environment that fosters cooperation, mutual respect
and staff motivation (objectified on turnover)
- Knowledge
of distribution channels and able to apply the information to complex
situations, solve complex problems, conduct research/break new ground,
develop new applications, and provide expert support for the team
- Experience
in preparing and managing budgets and strategic plans and skilled in
business plan development
- Proven
relational skills are requested
- Fluency
in English and Kiswahili are requested.
