Program Manager Job in Kenya


Action Contre la Faim (ACF-France) has been conducting humanitarian programs in Somalia from May 1992. 

At present, ACF is conducting its humanitarian activities in Somalia focused on Severe and moderate malnutrition, Medical programs and Water & Sanitation programs via program bases in Mogadishu (since 1995). 

ACF Somalia is currently looking for suitable a candidate preferably a Somali national to fill the following position which will be based in Nairobi with frequent travel to Mogadishu and to operation sites in various locations of South and Central Somalia.

Capacity Building Program Manager 

(1 position)

In collaboration with the Medical & Nutrition Coordinator, the Capacity Building Program Manager will be part of the team implementing Emergency Nutrition, Health and Wash Interventions for conflict and drought affected population in South and Central Somalia and s/he will also provide a link to the on-going ACF programs and other NGOS addressing malnutrition in the area. 

S/he will be in charge of building the capacity of the NGOs and ACF staff attached to facilities who manage the severe acute malnutrition beneficiaries as well as mother and child health (MCH) clinics and to give support to the nutrition/health facilities in other activities contributing towards strengthening of basic service package. 

The job holder will also be required to implement, organise, follow-up and give regular reports on capacity building activities in the area.

In addition, S/he will be expected to identify training needs of nutrition, health workers and community nutrition workers attached to facilities as well as conducting the relevant trainings.

Who we are looking for:
  • We a looking for a highly motivated and qualified individual with extensive humanitarian experience with a Degree in Nutrition/Nursing with a minimum of 2 years in Capacity building programs. 
  • S/he must have proven skills in capacity building and community development and ability to work in a team, have excellent communication skills and a team leader who is organised, able to take initiatives and work within deadlines. 
  • S/he must be computer literate with proficiency in using of Word, Excel and other data analysis tools with the capability of compiling high quality reports and must be fluent in both written and oral communication in English and Somali Languages.
