Managing Director

Following the internal promotion of the current Managing Director within the Tiger Brands Group, we are seeking to recruit a dynamic, self-motivated and results oriented individual to fill the position of Managing Director.
This position will report to the Regional Managing Director,
Tiger Brands East Africa.
The Managing Director’s role is to lead the organization in strategic and operational planning, business profitability, change management and sound corporate governance.
His/her key responsibilities will include the following:
- Lead
and co-ordinate the strategic planning and implementation process
including communicating the strategy to stakeholders and senior
management;
- Approve
business unit and functional strategies and operational plans;
- Review
progress and take corrective action on the overall strategic planning and
operational planning process;
- Lead
in the achievement of business profitability targets by measuring
performance, continuously reviewing financial indicators and analyzing
variances;
- Ensure
adherence to sound financial practices;
- Execute
regional acquisition strategies;
- Develop
and review growth plans against timef rames following the results of
market analysis;
- Lead
in the creation of a conducive organizational culture aligned with the
values of the Group;
- Drive
change management processes to integrate employees; and
- Ensure
sound corporate governance by engaging relevant stakeholders and obtaining
advice on applicability of relevant legislation to business
processes.
Skills and Attributes
- A
Bachelors degree in a business related field;
- A
Masters degree in Commerce or Business Management;
- Minimum
of ten (10) years relevant experience in senior management, five (5) of
which must be in the FMCG sector;
- Excellent
understanding of the Kenyan legal and regulatory framework;
- Excellent
analytical skills with the ability to link financial results to
operational performance drivers;
- Excellent
written, verbal and presentation skills with attention to detail;
- A
track record of excellent execution; and
- Prior
working experience in a multinational environment will be an advantage.
