The
offices of MSF - Holland in Lokichogio, Kenya would like to invite applications
from individuals wishing to work in the following position:
Position: Driver Mechanic
Position: Driver Mechanic
Location: Lokichogio, Kenya
Overall Objectives:
This position is responsible for organising adequate, efficient and safe transport for all MSF personnel and goods including technical maintaining of MSF vehicles on a regular basis. .
Specific Responsibilities:
- To
adhere to all MSF Driver rules and regulation
- To
take a good care of their vehicles and prevent damage
- To
perform daily and weekly vehicle checks and cleaning
- To
drive safely, legally, and set a good example
- To
achieve normal fuel consumption
- To
properly fill in the vehicle administration and vehicle logbook
- To
perform, weekly services, service A, B & C
- To
follow-up maintenance work done outside MSF
- To
maintain other different engine powered machines (generator, water pumps,
etc) and technical equipment
- To
ensure proper use of all workshop tools, fixed installations and
equipments
Requirements:
- Demonstrable
driving experience
- Minimum
of 2 years experience as a driver mechanic
- Good
knowledge of vehicle maintenance
- High
sense of responsibility and reliability
- Valid
driver’s licence, also for trucks till 20MT
- Experience
with 4 wheel drive
- Good
communication skills, positive, flexible and responsible attitude.
- Good
command of English and relevant local language, both written and
spoken.
- Good
knowledge of vehicle maintenance
- Previous
experience in a similar role with other organizations desirable
