Research Opportunity on Elephant Endotheliotropic Herpes Viruses 

National Council for Science and Technology (NCST) has funded a consortium of scientists from KWS, JKUAT, NMK and DVS (MoLD) to study the genetic characteristics of the lethal elephant probosciviruses (EEHV) in Kenya.

The funding has a component to engage an MSc student to participate in this project as a part of his/her MSc research project.

Suitable candidates should have training in molecular techniques, genetics and virology, and should have completed their MSc course work and ready to start their field work.

Field work will take place in Tsavo National Park, while laboratory work will take place at KWS Hqs molecular laboratory.

The successful candidate will be paid a modest stipend for 24 months.
