The Kenya Petroleum Refineries Ltd which operates East Africa’s only Petroleum refinery situated in Changamwe, Mombasa boasts of cutting edge world class technology in mechanical and chemical engineering.

It is a private limited company that refines crude oil into various petroleum products which are supplied to the country and region.

Professional Area: Contracting & Procurement

Brief Description:

The Buyer's role is to manage the procurement of services in a manner that assists in the achievement of corporate Contracts & Procurement objectives and the delivery of set targets.

The Buyer is responsible for the efficient administration of all local services procurement processes/activities within the organization in strict compliance with the company's procurement procedures and governance processes.

The position reports to Contracts Supervisor.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Execute services procurement processes efficiently and effectively
  • Efficiently manage Requisition-to-Pay transaction processing in Maximo
  • Ensure prompt delivery and compliance with all contracting prerequisites
  • Assist Contracts Supervisor in preparing contracts
  • Maintenance of procedures for contracts administration
  • Ensure compliance and achievement of continuous improvement.
  • Preparation of management reports
  • Participation and maintenance of high HSE standards
Desired Education Skills and Experience:
  • Candidates will be between 30 and 35 years old with a degree in Procurement & Supplies Management.
  • Applicants must have at least up to 5 years experience in a busy ERP procurement environment preferably in a manufacturing set up. You must be a registered member of Kenya Institute of Supplies Management.
  • Applicants with knowledge of Maximo will have an added advantage.
  • Highly organized, with high degree of initiative.
  • Strong interpersonal, analytical, team building, oral and written communication skills are a requirement for this position
