General Chef / Cooks Job - Urgent

We are a leading eco-lodge based in Chyulu hills seeking to recruit suitable candidates for the above position.

Location: Chyulu hills

The suitable candidate will be based in Chyulu Hills where the lodge is based and should be willing to work there.

He/she will have to be prepared to live in the bush, with no communication or telephone and very limited social life.

Urgent position available immediately

Qualifications

The selected candidates will hold a Diploma in Food Production or related from a recognized institution.

The ideal candidate should have at least 3 years’ experience in a busy 4-5star hotel set up or in a small luxury lodge in the bush.

Familiarity in Italian cuisine and a flair for the same an added advantage.

Must be Kenyan citizen above 25years.

International exposure a definite advantage

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Prepare meals as assigned for Camp guests and management as per the set policies and procedures to international standards
  • Modify and create new menus; variety is encouraged
  • Ensuring provision of timely meals as per the set time schedules
  • Developing well balanced menus to meet changing clients’ needs
  • Avoiding wastage by deploying and using resources optimally and apply stock controls
  • Ensuring portion control
  • Estimate food consumption for optimal purchase of the same
  • Standardize production recipes to ensure consistent quality
  • Maintain the kitchen environment adhering to safety standards and hygiene
  • Any other duties as required

  • Able to work long hours, nights, independently and are self-starters.
