Summary

The IT Administrator at AkiliAfrica provides technical and functional knowledge of IT infrastructure and databases required for successful operation of Microsoft solutions and related technologies.

The IT Administrator is responsible for planning, organising, installing and maintaining computer hardware, software and networks at AkiliAfrica.

They will develop and implement policies and procedures for data processing and computer systems operations and development.

The IT Administrator also provides advice on the use of IT infrastructure and business applications that will supply cohesive and integrated IT solutions that maximize return on investment.

They will work with various teams tasked with solving issues that relate to implementing Microsoft software in the AkiliAfrica internal and client IT environments.

They will take the lead in identifying opportunities for review and are responsible for translating business needs into integrated hardware and software solutions and facilitating the implementation of system design.

They will assist A
kiliAfrica’s clients in planning and deploying necessary installations or upgrades and will have the knowledge necessary to evaluate current infrastructure and to provide realistic recommendations for hardware sizing and software upgrades.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Technology.
  • Project Management training and certification.
  • Microsoft Windows Server 2008 and Microsoft SQL Server certification.
  • Broad knowledge of IT systems and applications including experience with business intelligence and data warehousing.
  • Three or more years of technical experience administering Microsoft based IT systems including Microsoft SQL Server. A
  • ny of the following certifications will be advantageous: MCTS, MCITP (server/enterprise administrator), MCSE, or MCSA, MCAS, and MCAP.
