UNDP Kenya Short Term Consultancy Re-Advertisement

1. Background

The UNDP Service Contract (SC) modality is intended to support the engagement of personnel to service development projects and to provide non-core services where outsourcing is not a viable and/or feasible option.

The SC modality is distinct in nature, with finite functions and limited services that are directly related to the execution of such projects or service areas.

The UNDP has developed a Handbook on Setting Remuneration for Service Contract Personnel (“the Handbook”) that delegates to UNDP Resident Representatives full responsibility and accountability to collect and analyze data locally to create and update Service Contract remuneration scales.

UNDP Kenya completed the last SC remuneration survey in 2008. SC remuneration scales should generally be updated annually, with comprehensive salary surveys done at intervals that are no longer than 3 years.

2. The UNDP

UNDP is the UN’s global development network, advocating for change and connecting countries to knowledge, experience and resources to help people build a better life. The organization has a presence in 166 countries, working with them on their own solutions to global and national development challenges.

UNDP Kenya administers 18 other UN agencies in Kenya, in addition to individuals engaged in Programmes and Projects undertaken in collaboration with The Government of Kenya and other development partners.
