The Authority is seeking to recruit qualified Kenyan citizens to fill the following position:
Manager Air Navigation Services – JKIA
Ref: ANS/OIC/JKIA/01/11
Department / Section: Directorate, Air Navigation Services

Reports To: Director Air Navigation Services
Scope of work / duties / responsibilities
§  Provide advice to the Director of Air Navigation Services on all matters pertaining to Air Navigation Operations;
§  Maintain close supervision of Air Navigation Services facility management to ensure that the required level of service is provided;
§  Conduct continuous quality and performance monitoring of services provided;
§  Inspect Air Navigation Services facility management to ensure that the required level of service is provided;
§  Conduct continuous quality and performance monitoring of services provided;
§  Inspect Air Navigation Services Units and facilities on a regular basis as agreed with the Director, Air Navigation Services;
§  Maintain the necessary records and statistics to enable the Director prepare inputs to the KCAA Business Plan;
§  ensure that all Air Navigation Services facility officers provide monthly reports on the operations, expenditure returns and ensure that necessary machinery is put in place for collection of data required for revenue collection against approved budgets;
§  Staffing levels and training; resource requirements; equipment availability and unserviceability.
Qualifications
§  A Bachelors Degree in a related field
§  Advanced professional qualification in Communication Navigation Surveillance (CNS) or Air Traffic Control (ATC) or Aeronautical Information Services (AIS) or Aeronautical Communications Services (COM)
§  A Masters Degree in will be an added advantage
Experience
§  Ten (10) years field experience in Air Traffic Management, Communication, Navigation or Surveillance System
§  Served as Head of Section within the Air Navigation Services Directorate or equivalent position for a minimum period of three (3) years.
Knowledge and skills
§  Good knowledge of ICAO Standards and Recommended Practices/Procedures.
§  Proven ability and skills in management and technical experience in ATM or engineering/communications services.
§  Demonstrated high standards of professional competence and administrative ability for direction, management and control of air navigation services with proven integrity, transparency and accountability.
