Candidates are sought to fill the following positions based in Nairobi:-

Chief Accountant

The purpose of this role will be to perform highly complex accounting work to generally accepted accounting principles, established procedures and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities/ Accountabilities

  • Ensure adherence to general acceptable accounting standards and principles, maintain proper audit trails, verification and reconciliation actions for all processed work.
  • Ensure compliance with tax and other statutory deadlines.
  • Ensure all functional activities and projects are performed within established budgetary parameters, including performing cost control activities, monitoring revenues and expenditure and ensure sound fiscal control.
  • Participate in developing budgets and forecasts.
  • Plan, manage, coordinate and implement the year end closing process and procedures.
  • Plan and establish work schedules within set deadlines, evaluate accounting and expenditure documents, purchase orders, distribution and disbursement orders for the purpose of ensuring compliance with established regulatory standards.
  • Prepare clear and concise periodic financial statements and reports ensuring compliance with established financial policies and procedures.
  • Provide technical accounting support and interpretation to the business.
  • Analyse budget pattern and financial expenditure. Forecast trends and analysis of results.
  • Develop narrative and statistical reports for business review.
Skills, Experience & Competencies Required

Bachelors degree in finance, accounting or related field and professional accountancy certification (CPA / ACCA), Assistant Audit Manager or Audit Manager

Experience with 7 to 10 years post qualification progressively responsible experience in business accounting and budget administration.

The incumbent will have extensive experience in financial reporting, internal control, financial analysis and budgeting.

Maintenance Supervisor

The purpose of this role will be to ensure timely scheduled maintenance is carried out in line with approved quality standards.

Key responsibilities/ Accountabilities
  • Plan and implement cost effective plant preventative maintenance scheduled in line with safety operating procedures and standards.
  • Monitor maintenance of work flow, observing quality control process and facilitate corrections to malfunctions within maintenance procedures and systems.
  • Ensure optimum plant output through elimination of wastage, shutdowns/breakdowns and cost reductions.
  • Complete maintenance plan by scheduling, accomplishing work results; establishing priorities; monitoring progress; revising schedules; resolving problems; reporting results of the maintenance summaries.
  • Ensure operation of equipment by organizing repairs; evaluating new equipment and techniques. Review maintenance performance and ensure conformity with quality requirements.
  • Maintain safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources; maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures.
  • Ensure full compliance with SHEQ standards.
Skills, Experience & Competencies Required
  • BSC Engineering or Higher National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, 5 years hands on experience in plant maintenance in a manufacturing industry.
Electrical Technician

The purpose of this role will be to periodically inspect equipment, and carry out planned preventive maintenance in compliance with OSH Act 2007 requirements and regulatory electrical standards.

Key responsibilities/ Accountabilities
  • Develop and implement a cost effective maintenance programme for all electrical installations and equipment and monitor maintenance against standards.
  • Understand plant layouts and where critical electrical equipment and installations are situated.
  • Carry out daily checks on equipment for unsafe conditions, arrange for repairs as necessary and update the relevant register.
  • Test operation of equipment, trace all filling processes, repair where necessary and retest.
  • Upgrade electrical installations as required with special attention to the protection of the various electrical equipments on site.
  • Ensure maintenance of adequate stocks of all critical electrical spares.
  • Abide by and follow emergency requirements. Install, maintain and repair industrial electrical and electronic equipment.
  • Work with engineering staff to improve or design equipment, and fix malfunctioning equipment as needed. Installation of new equipment or machinery.
Skills, Experience & Competencies Required.
  • Higher National Diploma in Electrical Engineering
  • 5 years hands on experience in plant maintenance in a manufacturing industry.
