National Sales Manager - Energy (Ethanol,Water,C02 & Electricity) Job in Kenya

Mumias Sugar Company Limited is the leading sugar manufacturer in Kenya. We have diversified and are exporting electricity to the National grid and venturing into ethanol production and water bottling.

To ensure that we remain competitive and sustainable in future, we are in the process of implementing our strategic plans including establishing an ethanol distillery plant that will produce 22 million litres of ethanol per annum and building a water bottling plant with a capacity of 20 million litres per annum.
 

These projects are targeted for completion by the end of the year 2011.

We are seeking a talented individual to fill the position of:

National Sales Manager - Energy (Ethanol,Water,C02 & Electricity)

Job Purpose:

Responsible for the sales functions within the business. Lead teams of Sales Managers or Regional Sales Managers to ensure sales objectives are achieved.

Principal Responsibilities
  • In charge of driving the sales activities in the trade with set targets.
  • Assist the Commercial Director in providing leadership and day to day management of the section.
  • Analyze sales statistics to determine business growth potential and recommend alternate sales avenues to the Commercial Director .
  • Maintain existing customers and develop new customers.
  • Develop the trade and monitor competition by defining superior sales strategies.
  • Seek Commercial Director guidance in setting up organisation wide sales and collection targets and ensure constant growth to the company in top line and bottom line.
  • Recommend to Commercial Director appointment, deregistration and handling of the distribution network
  • Seek approvals for contracts by Commercial Director in accordance with relevant procedures and legal regulations.
  • Support the Commercial Director in driving profitability and execute business strategies to achieve the Company’s objectives and to provide continual stimulus to its growth and operational efficiency.
  • Seek out and target new customers and new sales opportunities, initiates action plan to approach and secure more business for the company
  • Responsible for all trade accounts receivables. Monitors Accounts Receivables aging on a proactive basis with immediate reports, coordinates with credit manager and Commercial Director
  • In liaison with Commercial Director Conduct economic and commercial surveys, analysis of market demand and potential along with company percent share
  • Provide product and technical specifications to Commercial Director including technical advancement in various segments
  • Managing team by keeping them motivated, efficient and ensuring readiness at all times to service the customer most effectively
Minimum Requirements

In order to qualify for this job, the candidate should possess the following:
  • Bachelors in Commerce (Marketing)
  • Professional qualifications in marketing and postgraduate Diploma or Masters in relevant field
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in a sales management capacity in the sugar industry
  • Must have good understanding of mass markets with systems to drive a growing business
In addition to the above the candidate must also demonstrate the following:
  • Excellent analytical skills in particular financial modelling skills;
  • Extensive knowledge of project cycle management (Project Analysis, Monitoring and Evaluation);
  • Superior business management and negotiation skills;
  • Strategic leadership skills with demonstrated ability to drive a team to execute and deliver business objectives;
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills;
  • Business acumen and results orientation;
  • Demonstrable team working and coaching skills; and
  • Excellent communications skills (oral, written and formal presentations)
