Summary of Responsibility
Under the direct guidance of the Operations Manager, Wau the Logistics Officer will be responsible for management of logistics operations in Wau Zone Office.
Responsibilities include managing UNICEF warehouses in Wau, planning cargo transportation, developing distribution plans with programme sections, managing UNICEF logistics staff and Warehouse Services Contractor.
Major Tasks and Responsibilities
§  Manage the receipt and dispatch of supplies from UNICEF warehouses in Wau, and plan the utilization of warehouse space.
§  Manage UNICEF logistics staff and Warehouse Services Contractor – develop daily work plans and ensure that these are completed.
§  Liaise with transport contractors to organise the transportation of supplies from UNICEF warehouse in Wau to partner locations. Ensure signed waybills are received from consignees.
§  Develop supplies distribution plans with programme staff.
§  Communicate with Juba and Rumbek warehouse hubs for the timely delivery of supplies.
§  Ensure the necessary paperwork is completed and computer information entered as required by UNICEF procedures including reviewing of the correct use of stock cards within the warehouse.
§  Undertake data entry of warehouse documents to record electronically the stock levels and movement of goods into and out of the warehouse utilizing UNITRACK systems as required.
§  Ensure implementation of UNCIEF warehouse standards.
§  Ensure periodic inspections of stock and timely submission of corresponding reports to the Operations Manager.
§  Perform all other duties as specified by the Operations Manager.
Qualifications & Experiences
§  University degree in relevant Logistics or Operations field.
§  Two years of relevant professional logistics work experience.
§  Computer literate including good working knowledge of Microsoft software applications, particularly MS Excel and MS Word.
§  Fluency in English and another UN language preferable. . Competency Profile
