The Kenya Ministry of State for Defence (KMOD/HJFMRI) HIV PEPFAR Programme which is supported by the Henry Jackson Foundation Medical Research Inc (HJFMRI) seeks to fill the position of Laboratory Technologist to improve the management of HIV in the military throughout the country.

In order to continue providing the prequisite services to Kenya Military Personnel, KMOD/HJFMRI HIV PEPFAR Program seeks to recruit dynamic, innovative and experienced person to fill the following position:

Job Title: Laboratory Technologist

1 Position

The incumbent will provide Laboratory support including research related activities to the KMOD/ HJFMRI HIV PEPFAR Program.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Diploma or Advanced Diploma in Medical Laboratory Sciences
  • Valid Registration from the Kenya Medical Laboratory Technicians/Technologist board.
  • At least 2 years working experience in a busy accredited clinical laboratory conducting clinical studies.
  • Experience with CD4 counts. Automated chemistry and hematology analyzers. Viral load, HIV PCR is a must.
  • Proven experience on SOP Development and Maintenance is mandatory
  • Proven experience on Lab Quality Control is mandatory.

  • Perform any other relevant laboratory and research duties that may be assigned
