Head of Consultancy Services

The KIM — Consultancy Services Department was set up to address the growing need for management and leadership development in Kenya and the African region.

The Unit is responsible for consultancy and training.

It also undertakes Executive Placement Services, with the aim of linking employers with potential employees with excellent knowledge, skills and attitudes to take their organizations to the next level.

Job Purpose

The job holder will be responsible for all consultancy services under this unit including designing and implementing of world class capacity building interventions in the areas of leadership, governance and management.

He/she will also provide leadership and coordination of the Executive Placement Sub- Unit for the successful formulation and execution of appropriate strategies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out continuous management and leadership training needs analysis for the KIM current and potential client clientele in the areas of leadership, governance and management
  • Create business linkages both locally and internationally for the purposes of creation of synergy and benchmarking in organizational and individual capacity building
  • design, develop, implement, evaluate and monitor customer driven management and leadership programmes/projects and consultancy assignments
  • Organize both local and international conferences and symposia in order to create forum for the exchange and discussion of the pertinent management and leadership issues affecting the business practitioners and thus come up with home grown solutions for local problems
  • Lead high performing internal and external teams to deliver set objectives
  • To oversee the human resources advisory services including Executive Selection Services
Qualification
  • Master of Business Administration degree or related field
  • Postgraduate qualification in programme design and implementation is an added advantage
  • Over 7 years practical experience in management and leadership training, human resources advisory services, preparation of proposals and bids
  • Marketing and business development skills and competencies
  • Computer literate
  • Good presentation, communication and organizational skills
Branch Manager

Job Purpose

Reporting to the Head of Branch Services, the job holder will be responsible for overseeing the strategic issues of the branch including giving leadership to more than 30 members of staff, over 100 part time lectures in addition to supervising learning for more than 6500 students.

Key Responsibilities
  • To manage and ensure smooth running of all the branch operations and prepare monthly reports covering all activities of the branch
  • To recruit students and lecturers for the KIM School of Management courses
  • To ensure safety of all the resources of the branch including assets , finances and staff
Qualifications
  • Masters degree preferably in management or related field
  • A minimum of three years experience in a management position
  • Good presentation, ICT, communication and organizational skills
Procurement Manager 

Reporting to Head of Finance and Administration, the person will be responsible for ensuring that all Institute procurement processes are carried out in line with the Institute procurement policy while observing the best procurement practices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Periodic review and development of procurement procedures to be in line with best practice
  • Ensure adherence to procurement procedures and standards
  • Ensure availability of quality goods and services ordered and prompt delivery of the same to users.
  • Ensure cost rationalization by carrying out price surveys to determine price trends to help in suppliers appraisal
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Procurement Management. A Master’s degree will be preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years working experience in a busy environment
  • Team player with good leadership skills with good analytical skills
  • Must be a registered member of a relevant professional association
