Summary

Our client is a fully registered tour company under the Kenya Laws through the Ministry of tourism. Our objective is to provide high standard and efficient services to our clients.

The Tour Consultant will oversee the whole marketing and sales department.

They should be able to built a team which will help him meet his target
• Selling holiday and travel products to customers;
• Meeting sales targets as set out by the travel agency manager;
• Dealing with complicated customer itineraries;
• Handling customer orders and payments;
• Liaising with tour operators and other key partners such as hotels and airlines regarding bookings and schedules;
• Undertaking general administration;
• Advising clients about passports, vaccinations, visas, foreign currency, travel insurance, car parking, car hire abroad and excursions in resorts;
• Dealing with complaints;
• Using and updating IT skills, since information on holiday packages and bookings is usually accessed via a network;
• Organizing displays of promotional material.
They will need to be outgoing and approachable, with excellent customer service skills.

Primary Responsibilities
• Providing consultation to the clients with respect to enquiries on travel schedules, packages and other travel-related information.
• Arranging for the booking of travel tickets and accommodations for its clients.
• Exploring new travel and tour places and providing information on the same to the clients.
• Collecting travel payments and handling other transactions from the clients.
• Helping in getting the needed travel documents for the travel to the clients.
• Recommending the organization management for the new and improved travel plans with the changing mindset of the clients.
• Administering other travel agency employees and deploying travel guide to assist the clients.
• Organizing training sessions for the junior travel employees.
Skills and Requirements
• Bachelor’s or an equivalent degree in any subject, preferably in business or tourism related field.
• Previous working experience in business administration or travel and tourism sector is highly preferred
• Minimum of 3 years experience.
• Must have worked with one or two reputable tours & travels companies.
• An attractive salary package which will also have commissions and must have a car which he will be entitled to fuel and maintenance allowance.
• He must have a client base from his previous jobs.
• Good communicational and written skills.
• Good management, time management and interpersonal skills.
• Willing to work overtime and travel long distances.
