We are looking for a group of dynamic and entrepreneurial interns to join our Sales & Distribution as well as Marketing Departments for the July – September internship period.
You are passionate about books, and eager to explore the ways in which they can both be marketed and distributed to a larger audience, and have an interest in developing new opportunities for readers to explore literature.
You are excited by the opportunity to join a team that is building viable marketing and distribution networks that are commercially sustainable, and by the opportunity to break new ground in accessing readers.
More detailed information on the two opportunities are below.
Marketing Intern
• Assist with organizing the availability of company members for media/PR events as necessary
• Assist with the development of content, production and distribution of all marketing and publicity materials (posters, program, flyers, mail outs, brochures etc)
• Co-ordinate the invitation of potential future promoters and supporters of the institution
• Assist with organizing upcoming events ; Sunday Salon, Open Mic, book launches, book promotions in supermarkets and bookstores, book tours and the annual Nairobi book Fair in September
Sales & Distribution Intern
• Assist with organizing distribution of books to all outlets, as well as door-to-door delivery
• Assist with preparing gift packs and promotional packaging for upcoming
• Involvement in the follow-up of after-sales service and research on new outlets and customers
• With guidance from the Sales & Distribution Officer, assist with selling of advertising space for new issue of the Kwani? journal
Please note that both positions are unpaid. Kwani Trust will provide transport and lunch expenses for the duration of the internship.
