Health, Safety and Environment Manager Job in Mombasa

Grain Bulk Handlers Limited is the market leader in handling bulk grain in the port of Mombasa. We are looking for a suitable candidate to fill the following vacancy at our grain terminal.

Health, Safety and Environment Manager

The position reports to the Managing Director with functional reporting line to the Terminal Manager.

The incumbent will ensure compliance with national and international Environmental, Health and Safety standards, and manage ISO accreditation.

Key Responsibilities:

·         Meet the Occupational Health and Safety requirements.

·         Compliance with Environmental Management Coordination Act

·         Timely & Efficient response to HSE incidents and accidents.

·         Timely and Accurate submission of HSE Reports.

·         Initiate Innovative ideas and good working relations with staff.

·         Maintain terminal environment to the set sanitary and waste management standards.

·         Efficient and effective implementation of approved HSE training.

·         Ensure compliance with ISO procedures.

Essential Qualifications and skills:

·         A relevant University degree in Occupational Health and Safety or in Environmental Safety.

·         Minimum of 5 Years practical experience in similar field.

·         Working Knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act 2007, Environmental Management and Coordination Act and subsidiary legislations.

·         Conversant in hazardous materials management.

·         Qualified in audit and risk assessment procedures.

·         Registered lead/Associate EIA expert with NEMA.

·         Competent with Computer Software Packages.

·         Have a valid Driving license

·         Team Player with good communication and interpersonal people management skills

·         Ability to develop, plan, and conduct training workshops
