Chief Executive Officer / Investments Manager

Key Duties and Responsibilities

As the Company’s Chief Executive Officer/Investments Manager, you will be responsible for the implementation of the Board’s decisions in a results oriented and timely manner to achieve the Company’s investment goals, objectives and agreed performance targets.

This will entail inter alia: -

Role as Chief Executive Officer
  • Carrying out the day to day investment business of the Company and acting as the Principal Spokesperson of the Company
  • Developing of and recommending to the Board, the long term investment strategy, business plans, and annual operating budgets; and establishing proper internal monitoring and control systems and procedures.
  • Coordinating and preparing investments related proposals, reports and other submissions for consideration by the various Board Committees and the Board.
  • Developing and also ensuring that there is effective and efficient communication between the Management ,various Board Committees and the Board as well as between different levels of Management and providing leadership to the employees.
  • Developing and also ensuring that attendance to personnel matters including organizational structures, appointments, welfare, training, industrial relations, separation and effective management succession plans.
  • Ensuring continuous improvements in the net worth of investments made by the Company and ensuring continuous achievement of the Company’s Strategic Plan, financial and operating goals and objectives.
  • Developing and also ensuring the Oversight and ensuring implementation of corporate investment and other policies and programmes.
  • Developing and also ensuring the Maintenance of conducive work environment for attracting, retaining and motivating employees.
  • Developing and also ensuring the fostering of a corporate culture that promotes ethical practices and good corporate citizenship and ensuring compliance with the laws of the Country.
Role as Investments Manager
  1. Investment Deal Origination.
  2. Developing and validating the investment case
  3. Structuring and making the investment
  4. Portfolio monitoring, administration, reporting and managing the value creation process.
  5. Preparing Exit and or Maintain Portfolio position reports.
  6. Administrative and routine responsibilities
  7. People Management
Educational Requirements.
  • Undergraduate Degree preferably in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration or a related Social Science background and professional qualifications such as CPA,ACCA ,CFA, CPK
  • Investments training would be an added advantage
Required Experience
  • Ten years relevant experience ,five of which must be at Senior Management level preferably in the private and public equity in the financial and investment services industrial sector.
  • Hands on experience at managing a busy medium size Share Registration Office will be a distinct advantage .
