Territory Manager - Lubricants

Job Profile

The purpose of this position is to achieve the planned lubricants’ sales targets and brand awareness, make recommendations on distributor networks and develop expansion of our networks and market segments in the country and pursue new business opportunities

Key Responsibilities
  • Promote the sale of lubricants through regular planned visits to distributors and customers.

  • Monitor day to day performance of station dealers and distributors
  • Collect sales data, compare sales performance with the set targets and provides advice on how to improve service to customers and increase sales
  • Conduct market intelligence, competitor analysis and price surveys on lubricants.
  • Prepare status reports including activities, closing of all transactions, follow up business and ensure customer trade within approved credit limits and payment collection.
  • Investigate potential marketing opportunities for the Corporation and submit timely detailed proposals for the lubricants section to enable it take advantage of the opportunities.
  • Participate in exhibitions to promote National Oil lubricants, coordinate sales promotions, campaigns and customer open days and other marketing initiatives aimed at boosting lubricant sales and/or increasing customer awareness of the product.
  • Prepare price surveys for tender business and special discounts and rebates for approval
  • Organize dealer, distributor meetings and technical training for forecourt staff
  • Receive and attend to customer complaints regarding lubricants
  • Ensure compliance to statutory requirements for business channels.
  • Ensure proper merchandising of customer locations.
  • Enforce compliance of EHSS and operational procedures and regulations in all Distributor/Retail outlets in the region as may be assigned
  • Coordinates repair and servicing of service station equipment for lubes
Job Requirement
  • A minimum of degree in Mechanical, Chemical or Production, Engineering or related field.
  • Diploma in Marketing
  • Professional Membership in CIM, MSK
  • Must have at least three years experience in Sales and Marketing.
Work Related Skills
  • Interacting with installers, end users and heavy industry users for Lubrication products.
  • Experience in supply chain and logistics.Keen on details with a high degree of accuracy

Territory Manager - Retail

Job Profile 

Reporting to the Retail Manager, the job holder will be responsible for implementing and driving sales within the respective sales territory.

Responsibilities
  • Acquire new business opportunities within the sales territory to achieve set targets.
  • Enforce compliance to EHS and operational procedures and regulations in all retail outlets in the region
  • Conduct wholesale and retail price surveys.
  • Coordinate sales of lubricants and LPG in liaison with the Lubricants’ section & the LPG section respectively.
  • Ensure regular maintenance of the Corporation’s assets and work together with the maintenance team to ensure timely repair and servicing of service station equipment.
  • Provide business advice to the station dealers geared towards increasing sales volume and improved operational efficiency.
  • Coordinate sales promotion campaigns, customer open days and other innovative promotional initiatives within the territory in liaison with the Customer Service section.
  • Organize for dealer meetings.
  • Receive and attend to customer complaints and provide guidance for how any gaps in customer satisfaction can be filled.
  • Coordinate dealer and station staff training in liaison with the Retail Training Manager.
  • Ensure availability of quality products in all retail outlets at all times
  • Collaborate with the various departments to obtain guidance on best practice in the various facets of running a station
  • Enforce the Company Credit Policy and ensure that customers trade within approved credit limits.
  • Recruitment of station staff in liaison with the HR team.
  • Conduct market intelligence and guide the marketing team on opportunities on the ground and how best to take advantage of them.
  • Ensure compliance to statutory requirements for business sites in respective territories.
  • Ensure proper merchandising of shops where applicable
  • Conduct Station Quality Marking to ensure all stations maintain high retail standards.
  • Prepare monthly stock movement reports.
  • Reconcile customers’ accounts on monthly basis and ensure monthly statement is signed off and dispatched to customers.
Requirements
  • Degree in Marketing, Commerce, Sales or related field
  • Diploma in Sales, Marketing, Public Relations CIM, MSK, PRSK membership
  • 3 years’ experience in a similar position
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Experience in FMCG management, EHS.
