Senior Relationship Manager, Institutional Banking - Sudan

The successful person will report to the Chief Manager, Institutional Banking Department.

Job Summary:

Reporting to the Chief Manager - Institutional Banking Department, the role holder is expected to deliver leadership and liability business growth, grow customer base and revenue streams through proactive sales and marketing initiatives from the acquisition of new relationships.

This requires strong and effective relationship management and inter-personal skills, which will achieve optimization of customer satisfaction and retention, wallet size growth through delivery of appropriate solutions, cross-selling and customer acquisition.

Main Duties:

  • Develop profitable, sustainable and long term liability business in Sudan and the region.
  • Maintain a personal, robust and value-adding commitment to customer relationship management to meet their expectations and to provide appropriate solutions to their financial needs.
  • Anticipate and be continually sensitive to shifting customer expectations and initiate appropriate measures to ensure that the Bank stays ahead of competitors in customer service delivery.
  • Continually identify and exploit solution-driven cross selling opportunities that are able to embed and align the Bank and its products with the customers’ needs in the region.
  • Identify and develop a dynamic customer target pipeline and actively market for new customers from Sudan and the region.
  • Ensure compliance to KnowYour Customer (KYC) and Anti Money Laundering (AML) requirements in customer acquisition.
  • Maintain an effective customer call program for all assigned customers and prospects.
Job specification:

The incumbent will be required to possess the following qualifications, attributes and skills:
  • University Degree in a Business related course.
  • Relevant professional qualification in Banking, Finance or Marketing would be an added advantage.
  • At least five (5) years’ experience in Customer Relationship Management.

Relationship Manager - Chinese - Speaking

Job Summary

Reporting to the Chief Manager - Institutional Banking, the role holder will be expected to achieve business growth for the Bank by selling Banking products with a key focus in Chinese and Asian sectors. The Role involves promoting and selling other Bank products and services in order to enhance value-added relationship within Chinese and Asian Sectors.

Main Duties
  • Prospecting for and acquiring new customers in Chinese and Asian business segments.
  • Selling Business Banking products and services to existing Chinese & Asian customers.
  • Cross-selling of Bank products to existing corporate customers in the focus segment.
  • Ensure compliance with KnowYour Customer (KYC) and Anti Money Laundering (AML) requirements in all dealings with customers.
  • Manage all aspects of risk and strict adherence to Bank policy.
  • Monitor customer portfolio and ensure ring fencing of existing and newly acquired business within the focus sectors.
  • Ensure an effective call program is maintained on all assigned customers and prospects. The calls should be recorded and reported.
  • Timely reporting of performance on activities and customer portfolio maintenance.
  • Assist in identifying relevant customer needs not met by existing products and the implementation of new products and services to address those needs.
  • Initiate and engage in self-development programmes to enhance competence and/or bridge identified gaps.
Job specification

The incumbent will be required to possess the following qualifications, attributes and skills:
  • University Degree in a Business related course.
  • At least 3 years’ successful experience in a similar position or equivalent.
  • Proficiency in use of Microsoft Office Packages.
  • Fluent in speaking Chinese a major pre-requisite.
