Plant Manager Job in Kenya

Our client is a leader in development of large infrastructure projects in Africa. They have experience and a presence in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Sudan, Malawi, Botswana, Mozambique and Rwanda. The group is seeking to recruit a Plant Manager for its Kenya operations. 

Job Title: 
Plant Manager

Job Purpose:

Maintain consistent and effective plant management system through regional plant managers. Responsible for planning, developing, organizing, and providing effective leadership in the acquisition and maintenance of plant and equipment through out the region.


Main Responsibilities:
  • Annual appraisal of Plant & Equipments throughout the regions
  • Keep the control of inventory, mechanical efficiency and operating cost of plant and location of plant
  • Supervise & improve availabilty & optimum utilisation of plant and equipment
  • Monitoring consumption of fuel and consumables to ensure performance within the limit and also for detecting any anomalies
  • Supervision and advice for purchasing new or used plant in order to improve standardization of brand & models.
  • Monitor plant Capex budget and actual in regions with respect to business plan and participate in the capital planning process, identify opportunities to improve and provide cost effect solutions.
  • Advisor to the Company on all matters on plant and update technologies matters on Plant.
  • Formulate, implement and adhere to all QSHE policies, procedures and instructions.

Required Qualifications & Competencies:

Educational Requirements
  • Bachelor Degree in Mechanical or Automobile Engineering.
Professional Training /Qualification
  • Fleet management and/or logistics.
Skill requirements
  • Good Communication Skills, People Skills, Teamwork Skills and Analytical Skills. Knowledge in MS office.
Relevant work Experience
  • 15 years, 2 years of which should be in similar position.
