Public Relations & Communications Officer (to be based at the Nairobi Office)
Duties: -
Public Relations & Communications Officer (to be based at the Nairobi Office)
Duties: -
- To enhance the visibility of FIDA Keno on issues of gender and transformative justice.
- Development and implementation of communication strategies and policies.
- Coordination of publicity and advocacy strategies for various FIDA Kenya programs.
- Monitoring coverage, media coverage of FIDA Kenya and women’s rights issues and responding to the same.
- Drafting of speeches, press statements and articles for publication in various media.
- Coordination of press conferences and other media events.
- FIDA Kenya website maintenance.
- Networking with like minded organizations for information sharing.
- Manage the preparation and production of FDA Kenya journals and publications.
- Undertake any other tasks as commensurate with the post.
Qualifications and Attributes:.
The ideal candidate should posses the following qualifications and attributes:-

- Hold a Bachelors degree from a recognized University majoring in Mass Communication or its equivalent in related fields.
- Minimum of 5 Years post qualification professional experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in gender & women’s rights issues.
- Knowledge of media and experience in program management.
- Proficiency in computers and maintaining websites.
- Excellent presentation and communication skills.
- Social & outgoing personality.
- Ability to work with minimum supervision, handle multiple tasks simultaneously and set priorities.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills and ability to work under pressure.
- Proven excellent writing skills, with strong organizational skills and ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
