Sustainable Agriculture Community Development Programme (SACDEP – Kenya) is a Development Organisation, with its head office based in Thika Town and working in 14 Counties in Central, Eastern, Coast and Rift Valley Regions of Kenya.
SACDEP invites applications from suitably qualified Kenyan citizens to fill in the following posts.
1. Water and Sanitation Programme Coordinator
The position will require a person who is able to coordinate implementation and develop our Water and Sanitation Programme. Reporting to the Programs Manager, the person should have the following qualifications:-
Professional qualifications and responsibilities
· Diploma or BSc. in Water or Agriculture Engineering.
· Practical Skills in designing and execution of community based/led Water and Sanitation Projects. This includes but not limited to:
1. Hydrological Surveys and Borehole Drilling.
2. Water pipeline designing
3. Roof catchment water harvesting technology
4. Sanitation facilities design and construction
5. Installation of Mechanical hand pumps.
6. Spring water protection technology.
7. Water pans and Dam design and construction.
· 10 years experience working in a community integrated Water and Sanitation programme.
· Knowledge on Water Sector and environmental Policies is important.
· Experience in working for Development Agencies will be an added advantage.
2. Agriculture Training and Extension Coordinators
The candidate will co-ordinate Agriculture Training and Extension activities in a livelihood improvement programme and reporting to the Programmes Manager.
Professional qualifications and responsibilities
· Diploma/Degree in General Agriculture, Agriculture Education and Extension, Agriculture Engineering
· At least 10 years field experience in Agriculture training at Community level.
· Experience in mobilizing rural communities into effective working groups is a definite advantage.
