Safaricom Maintenance Technician Job in Kenya

We are pleased to announce the following vacancy in the Facilities Section within Supply Chain & Administration Division.

In keeping with our current business needs, we are looking for a person who meets the criteria indicated below:

Maintenance Technician

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the job holder will assist the physical checks and maintenances of equipment and within Safaricom facilities in support of facilities management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure prompt and timely replacement of electrical items such as bulbs, sockets, fittings, and extra power for users;
  • Ensure all Safaricom facilities items and equipments are promptly maintained and repaired as per yearly scheduled;
  • Ensure all emergency works are completed within service level agreements;
  • Ensure prompt and timely replacement of locks, adjustments for chairs, doors , windows, blinds, carpets, furniture’s etc;
  • Ensure Mechanical status and preventive maintenance schedules are followed for A/C indoor/outdoor cross control and wall units;
  • Ensure Fire fighting & Security Systems status and preventive maintenances schedules are followed for addressable detectors;
  • Ensure all contractors complied with environment health and safety regulations;
  • Ensure all works order and completion certificated are sign off after completion of works;
  • Provide the Maintenance Manager with reports weekly, monthly and ad hoc progress reports.
Minimum requirements
  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized University;
  • Diploma in Civil engineering / Fire & safety / Project management will be an added advantage;
  • 2 years working experience in a commercial organization with graduation on the survey, installation and inspection of Fire, security & safety & Electrical system;
  • Good knowledge in MS office applications and report writing;
  • Proactive, confident, energetic and ability to work under pressure and tight schedules/deadlines and with minimum supervision;
  • A proven team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Must have a valid driving license (BCE class).
