Oxfam GB is a development, relief, and campaigning organisation dedicated to finding lasting solutions to poverty and suffering around the world. Oxfam GB, Kenya works with pastoralists and other marginalised communities in Arid and Semi Arid Lands (ASAL) as well as the urban centres to address poverty.

We are seeking to recruit experienced and highly motivated personnel to lead, design and implement Water, Sanitation and Hygiene Promotion (WASH) programmes.

1. Wash Co-ordinator, based in Dadaab

The WASH Coordinator will co-ordinate and manage public health team involved in water sanitation and hygiene activities.

You will be a degree holder in Water or Civil Engineering with an understanding of hygiene promotion and integrated WASH programmes with extensive practical experience in developing countries in WASH programmes, some of this should have been in emergency refugee programmes at a coordination level.

You will need to have strong ability to present concise reports, sometimes at short notice, reflecting the problems and possible solutions for particular situations. You will have interpersonal, diplomacy, tact and administrative skills in order to work with people at managerial and, on occasions, senior UN/government levels.

2. Wash Team Leader, based in Lodwar

The WASH Team Leader will be responsible for the coordination and provision of technical support to partner agencies to ensure satisfactory standards are met as well as ensure harmonisation between agencies.

You will have relevant qualification in Civil or Water Engineering with extensive practical experience in developing countries in public health and hygiene promotion interventions and application of SPHERE standards in emergency situations especially in drought context.

Some of this should have been in emergency relief programmes, drilling boreholes and designing pipe network. You will need to have strong assessment, analytical, planning skills with the ability to translate analysis into recommendations for practical action.
