REA Vipingo Plantations Engineering and Workshop Job Opportunities

REA Vipingo Plantations Limited, world leaders in sisal, a company listed on the Nairobi Stock Exchange is the largest sisal fibre producer in Africa and operates large scale estates in both Kenya and Tanzania.

REA Vipingo Plantations Limited is expanding its sisal and other activities in Kenya and Tanzania and wishes to strengthen its workshop and engineering support teams and invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced individuals for the following positions:

Workshop Manager

Candidates should be not less than 35 years of age and have at least five years experience of managing a busy vehicle workshop or machine shop engaged in the repair and servicing of agricultural or related machinery including tractors, lorries and other vehicles.

Experience in the operation of a machine shop and servicing processing plant and equipment would be a distinct advantage. Experience of operating sisal plant and machinery is not essential.

The ideal candidate should have a recognised qualification in mechanical engineering, or a related subject, and must have proven hands on experience in the practical management of a workshop or engineering department.

The candidate must be well organised and experienced in managing skilled and semi-skilled personnel and dealing with, and controlling, paper work and systems.

Workshop Supervisors

Positions exist for experienced engineering and technical personnel in the workshops of certain group facilities.

Ideal candidates should be aged between 30 and 45 years and must have practical experience of working in a busy vehicle workshop and/or machine shop environment and of supervising teams of skilled and semi-skilled artisans.

Practical experience of working with tractors, lorries and other vehicles, or in a machine shop producing and/or fabricating spares is essential. These are hands on positions for practical people with experience of working in an organised company structure.
