The hospital has capacity of 140 beds.

Medical Officer in Charge/Clinical Consultant

Job description

Reporting to the board of governors and participating in the management team, the holder of this position will be charged with the responsibility of overseeing all clinical operations of the hospital.

Principal duties and responsibilities
  • Guide the management team and board on areas of clinical establishment and development.
  • Conduct daily ward rounds and supervise all patient care.
  • Provide leadership and expertise in hospital quality and clinical effectiveness.
  • Conduct special clinics including Medical, Surgical, Orthopaedic, Antenatal, and Gynecological.
  • Take primary responsibility and authority for dealing with medical staff matters and concerns.
  • Ensure that all clinical areas are carried out through development and implementation of effective disease management programmes, clinical protocol and guidelines, other decision tools and review of the outcomes.
Qualifications
  • Registered by Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board of Kenya.
  • At least 2 years post-internship experience.
  • Comfortable doing minor surgical procedures.
  • Ability to perform essential obstetric/gynecological surgical procedures.
  • Committed to the Lordship of Jesus Christ.
  • Willing to respect and live according to the Testimony of Friends including such lifestyle issues as temperance, sexual purity, honesty and nonviolence.
  • Able to respect and serve those who adhere to other faith traditions.
  • Willing to be involved in spiritual ministry and comfortable in providing spiritual leadership as opportunities or needs arise.
  • Willing to work long hours.
  • Understands team dynamics and how to function as part of a team.
  • Demonstrates humility, honesty, integrity and patience.
