Hydropower Engineer Trainee

The GTIEA Project is a Global Environment Facility supported project being co-implemented by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and the African Development Bank (AfDB), and executed by the East African Tea Trade Association (EATTA).

The Project aims to increase investments in small hydropower projects in tea industries in East Africa and thereby reduce cost of electricity, increase supply reliability and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

GTIEA invites applications from extremely committed and talented fresh graduate civil engineers or those with Masters Degree in hydropower, hydraulics or water resources and some work experience in hydropower, water supply or irrigation to work under the guidance of GTIEA Hydropower Expert at its office in Kenya.

Only those candidates who wish to make a career in hydropower (design/construction) and are keen to learn should apply. The candidate will work under the guidance of the GTIEA Hydropower Expert to assist tea companies in small hydro power planning, design and implementation.

The consolidated monthly gross salary will be USD 1,500. The position will be for a year starting in January 2011.
