Chief Operations Officer Job in Kenya - Yehu Microfinance Tryst

Yehu Microfinance was founded as a Trust in 2007 is focused on the provision of Rural Financial Services in the Coastal Region of Kenya with its Head office at Mombasa.

With slightly over 18,000 members, it has adapted Grameen Model which complements its unique sub-branch framework well and has ensured enhanced access of financial services to its targeted market niche.

The responsiveness of Yehu Microfinance Trust to its valued clients is manifested through a variety of products offered, with tailor made features to suit its lower income segment of the market typically earning two to three US Dollars per day

Yehu Microfinance Trust has been growing steadily and is now seeking radically accelerated growth. The Board of Trustees is looking for a mission-focused, seasoned, strategic, and process minded leader with experience scaling organization, leading a team of staff in the operations function and enhancing a performance culture among a group of talented and committed individuals.

Key Responsibility

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the Chief Operations Officer (COO) is primarily responsible for leading and managing comprehensively the Credit Program at Yehu Microfinance Trust.

The COO will take leadership in expanding the current 6 Branch outlets, all located in the immediate former Coast Province before the promulgation of the New Kenya Constitution, to new market outlets as outlined in its strategic business plan.

The Successful individual will be responsible for all strategies and activities of managing a healthy rapidly growing portfolio within the framework of the vision and mission of Yehu Microfinance Trust.

Key Qualifications

As a prerequisite, the successful candidate must believe in the core values of Yehu Microfinance Trust and be driven by the mission. The candidate should demonstrate a passion for uplifting socio-economic livelihoods among the marginalized.

Beyond that, Yehu is looking for an individual that has proven experience in scaling similar organizations under constraining framework and demonstrated ability to both lead and build the capabilities of a self-driven and motivated team.

The successful candidate will most likely have had experience in the Microfinance field at management level for not less than FOUR years. Experience in managing value driven similar organization will be an added advantage.
